So long, and thanks for all the fish!*

After kicking around a few different ideas, I've answered that difficult question of what to do with my wedding blog after the wedding.

My answer is: move on.

I've loved writing this blog -- it let me rant about my dislikes and squeal over things I loved without inflicting yet another call about weddings on my poor bridesmaids. And I can honestly say that wedding blogs often kept me sane -- not the ones with the glossy magazine-worthy photos, but the ones by all you wonderful ladies who were also planning your weddings. In your blogs, I found much-needed reality checks, great ideas, and most of all, the knowledge that I wasn't alone and that I was still pretty normal, even when I thought I was going nuts!

But, I do love writing, and reading, about life and marriage and everyday issues (and, of course, wine!). So I'm opening the doors on a new blog, this time on Wordpress: PetiteChablis.wordpress.com . I would love to see you over there if you're interested!

* Bonus points if you know my geeky reference :-)

Three things:
1. Thank you for writing this blog. Even though I'm not using any of the same vendors it's nice to follow "local" people.
2. I love your hair. You look gorgeous.
And 3. See you over on PetiteChablis! (cute name by the way!)

Is it anti-geeky of me that the first thing I thought of when I saw the title of this post was: "haha, like NOfX's 'So Long and Thanks for All the Shoes' album"?
Sorry!

ps- I have the same haircut! Now I have an idea of what to do with it. Thanks!

Oh how beautiful and happy you look. Thank you for sharing.

Phew you'll still be around. I hope you will lurk around a few weddingy blogs...hint hint!!

P.S. I do know someone who used to date Mr Adams! I think that makes me almost the coolest.

I am encouraged that two other people have commented about your hair - I found you today via A Practical Wedding and I came over mostly because of your short haircut and how awesome it looks and I was hoping there would be more pictures of it. Maybe even if you don't write about it, you could put up a couple more pictures to help the short haired brides out there who are constantly being told that they "have to grow their hair out for their wedding"??

Ellie, f*** "you have to grow your hair out"! Luckily no one close to me has been silly enough to suggest such a thing (yet?)...
Do what you want, and if it looks as good as hers, you'll have done well! :)

Ellie, I probably won't be posting more photos -- I'm a bit skittish about my privacy online and I try to keep the photo exposure to a minimum. But I completely feel your pain -- there just isn't that much out there, photo-inspiration-wise, for brides who don't want the typical chignon/updo thing. In fact, the main reason I posted this picture was because there are so few pictures of brides with short hair out there!

Confession time: I was, in fact, one of those engaged women who suffered temporary insanity and decided, "I need to grow my hair out for the wedding so I can put it up!" That lasted all of three months before I was back in the stylist's chair begging her to chop off the excess length. The truth is I look way better with short hair than I do in an updo (and I used to have hair almost down to my waist, so I have proof!). So, like Kahlia, I said "f*** 'you have to grow your hair out'" :-)

psst, Ellie, check out the other pic of BiE's hair on her Wedding Graduate post on APW!
My hair also looks much better short (also used to be down to my butt), so I've had some variation of almost the same style for like 10 years now and it's not going anywhere any time soon!
(It's funny, I was responding to your APW post at the same time as you were responding to our comments here!)
